His seamless blend of funk soul hip hop reggae house and choice contemporary “bangers” also caught the ear of the entertainment industry as his services have been requested by Maxwell, Jill Scott and George Clooney; his weekly “Good Spot” residency – alongside Stimulus every Monday at 105 Riv – has been heralded as New York’s best party by nightlife industry types; his critically acclaimed “Satisfy My Soul” mixtape series has been described as the perfect mixtape collection by his DJ peers and casual listeners alike. mOma is also collaborating with The Rub’s heavyweight DJ Eleven on the Special Delivery project which consists of a monthly mixtape release accompanied by a monthly session at NYC’s premier musical mecca, APT.

Solomon Burke, a singer whose smooth, powerful articulation and mingling of sacred and profane themes helped define soul music in the early 1960s, died on Sunday at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. He was 70 and lived in Los Angeles.

Percussion Lab is a collective of like-minded artists, DJs, record labels and selectors. Since 2002 they’ve been curating an exclusive collection of live and DJ sets from their favorite artists, DJs and record labels. The site is open for DJs and Artists to submit, rate and comment on their own mixes. Praveen founded Percussion Lab with one goal in mind, to curate a collection of sets and radio shows which would bring a niche sound to a wider audience. Since then, the Percussion Lab collective has continually expanded to encompass a broader range of sounds, bringing artists such as Flying Lotus, Daedelus, Jimmy Edgar Khonnor to NYC to perform at events around town and playing an instrumental role in 2006?s BAPLab music and new media festival.
