Hall of the Universe
The Hall of the Universe pops it and drops it with the turntable slams of Devlin & Darko of Spank Rock fame, and hosts the killer cuts of Baltimore gutter music impresario Aaron Lacrate (Milkcrate NYC), serving up hip-hop mixed with old-skool, crunked flair.
In the Powerhouse, Brooklyn-based Foreign Islands serve up a mix of nu-rave and punk, while partygoers are also treated to the aural sensations of Hess (aka Hess is More), a Danish artist and musician who lays it on with a nuanced blur of Cagian thought and complex rhythms. In Europe his music has been heard in film, theater, and multimedia exhibits. Between the instruments, the electronica, and the jazz background, Hess finds your soul while relieving you of mundane thoughts. Also mixing and matching beats are the Bassbin Twins (Bassbin Records), who throw down their impressive turntable skills, moving among breaks, house, and choppy drum ‘n bass..
