A little bit about the guest artist…
Rhadoo (Radu Cilinca) made his debut in 1995 and is one of the most promising acts in electronic music today. An accomplished DJ, his sound runs from deep, dubby House to uplifting and seductive Techno. He was one of the first Romanian DJs to break out internationally as a member of Sunrise Booking Agency roster with gigs at Club A and Studio Martin, Bucharest, Romania blossoming into stints at the East Power – Sankt Petersburg (Russia) and a residency at DC10 in Ibiza; not to mention his constant touring in Europe and his home country. Three Hallucination Recordings was founded in 1992 in Tampa, Florida by Monk and David Christophere. Originally used as a platform to release their music as Rabbit in the Moon, Hallucination Recordings has since released tracks by Jackal & Hyde, Beautiful Confusion, Soulrider, Second-Hand Satellites, Reverse Commuter, House Wrecka, and Pimp Juice. Hallucination has grown into one of the most well respected underground US labels, and now includes the imprints Hallucin8trax and Hallucination Limited. The first sister label, Hallucin8trax, specializing in the new-school version of old-school Chicago Hard House and Breaks, and striving to take off where legendary Chicago label U.C. (Under Construction) left off. Hallucination Limited was founded in 2003 by Pittsburgh-born, New York City-based DJ Three. Hallucination Limited serves as a label for Terry Francis, Phillip Charles, and Three himself, amongst others. The imprint borrows equally from vintage Acid-House, Techno and underground Electronica. German club veteran Timo Maas is a master of reinvention. Emerging during the excess of trance’s heyday in the late ‘90s with his self-labelled “Wet & Hard” style that fused techno, progressive house and funk in a rivetingly futuristic manner, he quickly became the remixer du jour for both the club underground and the commercial big leagues. Paul Oakenfold signed up his debut album Loud for his Perfecto imprint – a modern classic that effortlessly bridged accessibility and raw dancefloor sleaze from electro to breaks to tech and hip-hop – with his second album Pictures sharing a label with the likes of Muse and Garbage. And let’s not forget that “Dooms Night” remix of Azzido Da Bass which went on to inspire a generation of LFO-loving dubstep and bass producers. After a hiatus of a couple of years, he cast aside his chart-breaking fame and re-embraced his old love of techno, teaming up with Italy’s Santos in the studio and becoming a stalwart of Sven Väth’s scene-leading Cocoon Recordings, smashing everyone’s preconceptions of his work wide open. This period of resurrection saw the duo team under the banner of Mutant Clan, again breaking down musical barriers and giving the world their warped version of techno.
He’s a musician who will succeed at whatever he puts his hand to, and his next move is always highly anticipated. Behind the decks, he packs one of the hardest punches around, pulling you inside his hypnotic world and creating sets that live, breath and thump as one cohesive, gargantuan entity. So dedicated is he to his craft that he’s built a club on his own land – a Funktion One-packed barn next to his farmhouse in Germany where he rigorously tests out his newest productions and finds. Only a DJ and producer as innovative, technically brilliant and downright loveable could be worthy of an undertaking as prestigious and lauded as the mixing of a Balance compilation. This is Maas’ first official compilation in 9 years.

His seamless blend of funk soul hip hop reggae house and choice contemporary “bangers” also caught the ear of the entertainment industry as his services have been requested by Maxwell, Jill Scott and George Clooney; his weekly “Good Spot” residency – alongside Stimulus every Monday at 105 Riv – has been heralded as New York’s best party by nightlife industry types; his critically acclaimed “Satisfy My Soul” mixtape series has been described as the perfect mixtape collection by his DJ peers and casual listeners alike. mOma is also collaborating with The Rub’s heavyweight DJ Eleven on the Special Delivery project which consists of a monthly mixtape release accompanied by a monthly session at NYC’s premier musical mecca, APT.

Dub War is the US’s original dubstep party, pushing boundaries and bass bins in New York City 4 years running. The event is held monthly at L.O.V.E., and features visiting guests at the forefront of the sound from the UK and worldwide alongside residents Dave Q, Joe Nice, Juakali,and Incyde.Expect futuristic bass music and the freshest dubplates straight off the press. Spanning the spectrum of tempos and styles, Dub War challenges audiences to be open to strange and unexpected sounds which defy convention but always hit hard on a heavy sound system. Dub War is the US’s original dubstep party, pushing boundaries and bass bins in New York City 4 years running. The event is held monthly at L.O.V.E., and features visiting guests at the forefront of the sound from the UK and worldwide alongside residents Dave Q, Joe Nice, Juakali, and Incyde. Expect futuristic bass music and the freshest dubplates straight off the press. Spanning the spectrum of tempos and styles, Dub War challenges audiences to be open to strange and unexpected sounds which defy convention but always hit hard on a heavy sound system.
