I will peface this by saying im a huge fan of Prefuse 73 since Vocal Studies and i was really looking forward to catching the live show. That said, the show was a serious disappointment. Doors opened at 9:30 and Prefuse didn’t go on until 12. and when he did, the tracks sounding alot like scattered noise, not the lush, layered sounds of Prefuse 73 releases. The set went on for about an hour and it left the crowd wondering “when is this gonna really take off?” all in all i was severely let down and i also could have done without Mr. Prefuse’s attitude when someone had suggested to “play something to dance to”…He responded with “you want to dance, go somewhere else?”…Somewhere else? You fill up a venue thats teaming with people willing to rock out to your music and you tell them they should have gone somewhere else? -10pts for you, homie. Peformanace had potential but he gets a C+.

yeah, haha.. he told dude to go to a strip club! show was kinda beat, i agree.. the dude that was warming up for him was killing it though.. not catchdubs, but the next dude who played immediately before prefuse.

i’ve see prefuse a bunch of times now, and some times the shows are great (usually when he is playing with a larger band)

Something to say?
