NEWS: OBEY THE DJ?
by admin on Apr.29, 2008, under News and Events

Normally this would go right into the event listings category but it’s news to us and might be to you too…Apparently Shepard Fairey, aka OBEY, is now a DJ as well? Who knew? He’s schedule to be playing what the Guggenheim mailer calls “an eclectic mix of old school hip hop, 80s, rock and electro as well as some unexpected oddities and well known classics.” That doesn’t sound too promising but the man does have artistic talent. Maybe that translates into musical talent as well?

It’s on again…
The Easy Lover Loft is back for another round after the last one went so wonderfully with DJ Spun. We’re taking over the same space–an architect’s well designed loft with large, old windows looking over into the Hudson and up to Times Square from the top floor of the triangular building that sits just below 14th St in between 9th Ave and Hudson. This time on the musical menu, Mr. Brennan Green will be the entree, showcasing his newly re-found love of classic house and his off-the-wall jams that sprout from the left and right of the old-school. And, of course, residents Probus and Justin Carter, whose records range from hard and fast to slow and low, will be trading off with Mr. Green throughout the night.
Once again, take a disco nap, and hydrate. There’s free beer early, and we’ll be up late.
