Dance Tracks Closing Friday, Nov. 30
by admin on Nov.28, 2007, under News and Events
NYC staple and dailysession partner Dance Tracks is closing its doors on Friday, November 30th.
Here it is from Stefan, Dance Tracks’ owner:
“With a heavy heart Dance Tracks will be closing this Friday the 30th November. Like many stores before us we have found it impossible to sustain a Vinyl business in NYC. With pressing plants closing, labels unwilling or unable to press vinyl, traditional wholesalers offering Records at wholesale prices the retail the customer base has been slowed eroded.
I personally wish to thank every customer who ever spent a penny at the store and to all the labels for their support over the years.
But most of all I need to thank all the staff who loyalty have worked here over the years, especially Phil D, Jimmy Sky and of course Jacky, who without doubt gave the me the single biggest contribution of anybody that has worked at Dance Tracks.
Lastly to Joaquin Claussell who 17 years ago convinced me to leave the safety of the corporate world to embark on what has been an epic journey.
I wish all the record stores that are left all the best and hope that the closing of Dance Tracks will illustrate how important it is to support, not just Vinyl stores but every Independent Mom and Pop Music store.”
